The Give Kids a Chance Library Project
Providing books and a safe place to read for children and students is part of Give Kids A Chance’s goal to facilitate education for children who would otherwise continue to live lives of poverty and illiteracy.
Spanish Books Guatemala
Over the past five years the directors and volunteers of Give Kids purchased hundreds of used Spanish and English children’s books and novels which we distributed to educational centres in Guatemala. We provided books for a Maya children’s centre in Zamora, San Mateo and Chocantariy. As well we constructed a library in Jocotenango in which we placed over two hundred books. This is the first time these children have ever had access to books that they can read and enjoy at their own pace.

Give Kids a Chance Library Project
Give Kids a Chance has supplying books and libraries to rural areas where access to written resources is extremely limited. These areas include a library for children and youth in the village of Jocotenango, Guatemala, three school libraries in rural Ethiopia, and a resource library in the village of Chemorut, Kenya. Through book donations, GKAC also supports The Book Bus, a mobile library in northwestern British Columbia that supplies books to several First Nations reserves in the area.
